A lantern in one hand, 

a bright, fierce heart in the other— 

one willing to face the storm 

coming ferociously for you,

with you. 

She elevates, 

celebrates, 

upholds,

and protects. 

She is one willing 

to humbly curl into your most harrowing corners 

with nothing but a garland of grace— 

womankind.

I was having a crisis, but not the kind you might imagine—less of a mid-life quandary and more of a sentimentalist’s dilemma,
