Earlier last month I got to be a disciple of nature under the guidance and leading of renowned artist of flowers — Donna Stain. She opened her doors at dusk and said that all I needed was some passion for the botanical and a glass of vino in my hand— from this place of play (and a antipasto plate on the side) I learnt how to create an ethereal work of flower-art, one that I carried home and suspended from ceilings height as a living sculpture to enjoy en tu casa for the week.
Flowers deserve poems,
and so did this moment in time.
I hope this written piece partnered with some film captures of the evening brings a sweet pause to your day, a breath, a reflection.
What are you dreaming about
What makes your flower-heart bleed
How do you like your coffee (or tea)
And did you exhale large in the ocean breeze?
Did you say that thing your heart needed
What song best describes your now
What wakes you up at midnight to pray
Did you turn up the music and sing too loud?
Did you take the day-nap you needed
And what pretty things do you see
What miracle happened at lunchtime
Did you take time to sit still and just be?
What
risks
are
you
taking
What changes are you making
Is your heart growing
What seeds are you sowing?
What awakens your heart
What makes it burn
What makes you cry
Or your stomach dance and turn?
Who do you love
And why is it so
Where could you live
How far would you go?
Did you open imagination’s door
Did you make some time to sway
Did you hug somebody, darling—
Please tell me about your pretty day…
Tell me about your pretty day here…
Did you hear the big news?

With me
With Him

In beauty
In pain
In laughter
In the mess
connection, connecting, connect
