In the world of exploration, we rarely find answers that hold absolutes—but that’s what makes an inquiry so captivating. I’m drawn to written exploration because it allows the uncovering of multifaceted truths, giving language to my curiosities whilst opening up my mind to the lived experiences of others—this also allows me to have a deeper understanding of my own story.
For me, an inquiry is about expressing the complexities of my inner world with words and poetry and in this having a moment to realise the richness of individual story, in all its unique differences.
Opening up conversation through the written word has ultimately been about allowing light to touch some of the darker corners of my story, the corners where question marks still buoyantly dance about—it’s where I have the gentle place to explore the things that I have never been able to find words for. What I have found in this process is the ridding of shame—Language and conversation have this way of doing such things and this is one of the many reasons I write.
Did you have the space to nestle into my recent 4 piece inquiry on ‘home’?
I began the inquiry not knowing where it would take me, only to find myself cathartically grasping language that ultimately allowed me to rid a level of the shame that had quietly made home in the colours of some of my differences. The things that make me uniquely me.
Within this four-series body of work, I discovered a chance to delve into the intricacies of what has felt like a purpose for my life and the associated experiences.
Do you ever notice your own inner beliefs quietly steering the decisions you make? Beliefs gently thrumming in the background, guiding your choices without drawing attention to themselves, guiding your behaviours—It’s easy to overlook their influence unless of course you take a moment to reflect on them or someone prompts you to consider them with a beautiful question asked…
For me, this has been mostly about—
Asking questions.
I encourage you to sit with the below readings, if curiosity finds you. Pour some tea and read them in order, gently and unhurried. Part three gifts a very wholesome playlist of 40 tracks that carry associations to my feelings of home—diversely.

Thank you for being here. Choosing to sow into ‘Catching Shower Flowers’ as a paid subscriber is a generous acknowledgment that you value what you read here, that you are not just an audience to the art, but a contributor to the unfolding of it. Thank you for the opportunity to push my limits and find the words begging to be found, just beneath the words on top. I am so grateful for this opportunity and I don’t hold it lightly, that you would choose to be here.
